Goose Island

Located east of the Waterfowl Display Ponds.

A place for wildlife rather than for people, this diverse area has numerous species of birds and plants. A unique feature is the centre dug-out area between the north and south sections, which provides a deep area of water in an otherwise shallow section of the lake.
In October 2003 two small temporary dams were built on the north section in preparation for the lake enhancement project.
