POSTCARDS FROM MOOSE JAW

THE BUILDING OF DAMS ON MOOSE JAW WATERWAYS ENCOURAGED
OTHER DEVELOPMENT, BOTH ECONOMIC AND RECREATIONAL.
SOME OF THE ENTERPRISES WERE MARKET GARDENS,
ICE HARVESTING, PIGGERIES, GRISTMILLS, AND BRICKMAKING.
MANY EARLY SETTLERS LOVED THE OUTDOORS AND
ACTIVE SPORTS SUCH AS TENNIS, BASEBALL, CANOEING,
SWIMMING AND OTHERS. THE VALLEY ALSO HAD AN ANIMAL
PARK, TEA HOUSES, DANCE HALLS, PICNIC AREAS, CAMPGROUND, THE MAIN
RECREATION SPOT FOR MANY MOOSEJAVIANS.
POSTCARDS WERE A POPULAR WAY OF CONNECTING TO FAMILY,
FRIENDS, AND HOMELAND, SHOWING THEM THE PROMISE AND
ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF A NEW LAND.
THE VALLEY CONYINUES TO BE A PLACE FOR ALL TO RESPECTFULLY
ENJOY.
