Dave was born in 1899. He joined the Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Forces in 1914. (he was only 15 years old). He went overseas, married and was wounded. He was shipped back to one of Winnipeg's five military hospitals where he died. Burried in Winnipeg's Brookside Cemetery. While in Crandall, Dave was a well digger working for George Padfield.
